Yes, two whole posts on fans that aren’t ugly is totally warranted. In this installment, we’re bringing you more ceiling fans that are actually attractive. This time, we’re focusing on ceiling fans without an integrated light.

If you already have recessed lighting in your room, or get a significant amount of natural light, a fan with a light kit might not be necessary. In that case, you’re in the right place. Big on size and style, this fan is perfect for large great rooms and comes with both a 3″ and 6″ downrod.

If you’re looking for a fan with a clean, modern aesthetic at an easy price, the Presto is a great option. You can also find it in white and matte nickel, though I find the more noticeable logo on those colors to detract from the style.

This fan is a true chameleon that I see working well in a range of interiors, from transitional to modern. Plus it’s damp rated and comes with a couple down rods (4″ and 2″ for the 52″ diameter fan; 3″ and 2″ for the 44″ diameter fan).

6) Westinghouse Lighting Widespan Industrial Ceiling Fan
100 inches
Shown in matte black. Also available in brushed nickel and white.
At a whopping 100 inches, this fan gets the job done in even the biggest open concept rooms, providing an alternative to installing 2 fans. Keep in mind, you’ll need extra vertical clearance for a fan this big. Plan to hang it at least 10 feet above the floor.

I really wish there were more ceiling fans that are actually attractive. Let’s face it: most are an eyesore. Unfortunately, if you live in a hot climate like I do, you know our hands are tied (unless you don’t mind a BIG air conditioning bill). So let’s get the best of both worlds- form and function- with Decor Sleuth’s round-up of ceiling fans that are actually attractive.

Another damp rated version, this one offers lots of options for customization, from the multiple colors to the ability to install with or without a light kit. There’s even a close to ceiling kit for rooms so you can flush mount the fan in rooms with low ceilings.

When you need a REALLY BIG fan, this is the one. The starburst design puts the Odyn over the top. Plus, it’s wet rated, providing the greatest flexibility of any fan on the list. The motor and fan blades are sold separately under 84 inches which is a bit unusual, but if you crave customization that could be a positive.
